Preparing Your Script for Editing

As with all things in the production landscape, nothing is easy or cheap. No more is that evident as with beginning the editing process. While ‘jumping right into Premiere’ might be something you want to do – it is hands down the WORST way to go about this. Before you can edit, you must prep your script.

For this project, you will take your finished script and prepare for the editing process. Be sure to refer to the module video tutorials for step-by-step instructions on what to do for this.

Submit your completed assignment by following the directions linked below. Please check the Course Calendar for specific due dates.

Save your assignment as a Microsoft Word document. (Mac users, please remember to append the ” x” extension to the filename.) The name of the file should be your first initial and last name, followed by an underscore and the name of the assignment, and an underscore and the date. An example is shown below:

INT. HOUSE – DAY

TIFFANY is in her bedroom chilling listening music, waiting
for her friend, ELISHA. Who is being so anxious. She is also
impatient and be irritated fast and has a short temper. She
is a college student who is studying dentist hygienist Who
comes from a Money and is rich, But a attitude problem. OMG
how could you! He cheated on my best friend. Tiffany who’s
college student studying graphic design struggling to pay her
loans and support her siblings. She works a day shift as a
waitress in a restaurant. Tiffany is kind but also ruthless!

ELISHA
It’s me girl, open the door

OLIVIA
Hey, I got your message whats up.

ELISHA (CONT’D)
You know that girl Tanisha from our
school right.

TIFFANY
Oh, yea I know her, what about her?

ELISHA
Well I went to your dorm-room for a
book because I know your boyfriend
be there so I knocked and I saw
another girl in your bed

Elisha Bang the door open hard and pulled the girl by her
hair and pushed her to the wall. Boyfriend calls her out.
Boyfriend, sophomore student who works at a local diner. He
is a dog and a liar, and he is also a bad boyfriend to
Olivia. He is of average height with dark hair and brown
eyes. Elisha, I can Explain.

ZOEY
Shut up, Deshawn and I am telling
Tiffany! That is my Best Friend!

NO! This not any of your business I will tell her when the
time is right.

ZOEY (CONT’D)
Either you tell her now, or I will.

Tiffany and Elisha gets in the car.

BOYFRIEND!

Tiffany

Don’t hey baby me! Did you have another girl in my dorm.

The girl is still in there under their bed;

BOYFRIEND

TIFFANY

You welcome girl, That’s what best friends for.

EXT: OUTSIDE-DAY

It is a few weeks later. Elisha and Tiffany is out shopping.

Tiffany:

I am so glad finals is over for the semester ugh!

ELISHA

I Know!

Tiffany spots a Hot guy!

HOT GUY:

TIFFANY
HI!

HOT GUY:

How are you! I am Kamar.
