Your supervisor, the senior manager for the PMO, has returned from a conference in Chicago. One of the

speakers at the conference presented an overview of the success and benefits of using an adaptive project

management methodology called Agile. Your supervisor wants to introduce the concept of adaptive project

management (APM) to the staff of the PMO. As the newest person on the staff, you are asked to create a short

slide presentation to be presented by your supervisor at the next weekly staff meeting. You are instructed to

keep it short. You will write a more detailed narrative in the speaker notes that accompany the slides (if you are

using PowerPoint, add your notes at the bottom of each slide where it says “Click to add notes”). You will describe

the characteristics of adaptive project management methodologies and compare them with traditional project

management, highlighting the pros and cons. Your peers in the PMO are the target audience for this presentation.

First, introduce yourself to the class. Include your major and anything

you would like to share about yourself. Then address the prompt

below.

You are the newly hired junior member on the staff in the Program

Management Office (PMO) of your company. The weekly staff

meeting was cancelled because the senior manager for the PMO is in

Chicago at a conference. So, instead, the office is conducting a

professional development session. This PMO closely follows the

PMBOK. By way of review, you are asked to lead the discussion by

describing the key components, roles, and responsibilities found in

traditional project management as defined by the PMBOK. Select one

element of the PMBOK processes that you feel is most important to

the execution of a project, and explain why you think it is the most

important. Compose a written discussion post of your descriptions.

Provide your initial response to the scenario presented, and respond

to at least two of your peers. When providing feedback to your peers,

comment on what they posted as the most important element of

PMBOK.

PDF document.

QSO 435 Module One Short Presentation Guidelines and Rubric

In Module One, you learned about an adaptive project management methodology called Agile. For this activity, you will submit a five-slide PowerPoint
presentation that includes a narrative of the speaker notes within the PowerPoint presentation. In this scenario, your supervisor, the senior manager for the

project management methodology called Agile. Your supervisor wants to introduce the concept of adaptive project management (APM) to the staff of the PMO.
As the newest person on the staff, you are asked to create a short slide presentation to be presented by your supervisor at the next weekly staff meeting. In your
presentation, you will:

• Keep your presentation format to five slides composed in bullet point format.
• Describe the characteristics of the adaptive project management (APM) methodology.
• Distinguish the characteristics of adaptive project management (APM) versus traditional project management (TPM).
• Include speaker notes within each slide that elaborate on the corresponding topic for presentation purposes.
