You will be given a list of companies to select for your stock investments. You will invest a hypothetical amount of $10,000 in 5-10 stocks to carry throughout the course. You will be required to record the weekly performance of their portfolio on Wednesday of each week. This can be done in an Excel spreadsheet by calculating the number of shares purchased multiplied by the price of the stock on the Wednesday of Weeks 1-7.
Over the course of the session, you will keep a weekly journal where you record and analyze the performance of your portfolio and record significant firm, market, index, economic, political, global factors/events that help you understand movements in your portfolio’s performance. Journals should cover portfolio data collected during Weeks 1-7. This should be done using an current edition APA-formatted Word (doc., docx.) or RTF (Rich Text Format) file and must have a title page, body, and reference page. Journals must be double-spaced, have 1-inch margins, and use a current-edition APA approved font type and size. The body of the journal should be at least seven pages but no more than 10.
