Week 07

You are interested in exploring disputation of life patterns and disruption
of social relationships when comparing males and females. After
conducting a Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, you determined these two
dependent variables did not meet the standard for normality. For this
comparison, a non-parametric test is then required.

Conduct a Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests by selecting the
options the researcher would need (use the non-parametric test
analysis, and within this grouping, select “Legacy Dialogs”).

1. Based on your experience in this course, present tables to
adequately report the results of both analyses; Mann-Whitney and
Kruskal-Wallis.

2. In narrative form, discuss the results of both analyses;
Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis.

3. Are there any differences in the results from both tests?
4. Include an appendix that contains all SPSS output (copied and

pasted) for the items above.
5. For possible use within your future research, identify the

non-parametric counterparts to the following parametric tests:

Length: Complete responses to all five prompts. Please include the
question prompts along with your responses in your assignment
submission. In addition to a WORD ( ) file with the answers to the
assignment questions, also include the output (.spv) file. (NOTE: SPSS
automatically generates the .spv file as you work in SPSS. When you
close your SPSS main window, SPSS will ask you if you want to save
the output file. Click ‘yes’, then save to your computer and upload with
your assignment.)

References: No references are required, though any sources used other
than those provided within the assignment should be cited and
referenced in APA format
